SATURDAY, MAR. 7, 2020

It was sunny, and the temperature reached 19 degrees Celsius. The
weather forecast says it will rain again tomorrow.
For the first time, the number of confirmed new cases dropped to
two digits, about 97. That is undoubtedly meaningful and indicates that
the outbreak is coming to an end. But, of course, this is only my judgment.
It is perfectly normal to see a doctor when you have a disease, and
the patient must get timely treatment. In the addition, the residents must
report any headache or fever to the community. However, this situation
should not continue for much longer.
Lockdown of cities and even residential areas is an extreme
prevention and control strategy that is extremely risky and bound to bring
immeasurable losses and harm. But, of course, I can't help it if you say it
is a necessary sacrifice. The mayor and the high officers of Wuhan
suppress public opinion covering up the pandemic that was a major cause
of the city's lockdown, is a dereliction of the mayor and the related
government officers. A pandemic that did not deserve such a tragic price
may help us understand the relationship between power and
responsibility, between citizens and administration, and how important it
is to establish a transparent system of accountability and related laws to
prevent similar mistakes and tragedies in the future.
The People Daily published an article entitled "Breaking the
Concept of Gratitude and Virtue of the Public to the Leading Cadres.” I
didn't look at the content, but the title is good.
After more than a month of living in seclusion, we have witnessed
a human tragedy and endured severe pain that was not needed. Therefore,
we should become sober, not follow blindly, be brave enough to express
ourselves, and strive to protect every citizen's justice and rights.
In my opinion, the basis for preventing the spread of the pandemic
is to admit as many patients as possible, disclose information to citizens,

and spread scientific knowledge. Without this foundation, the spread of
the pandemic is inevitable.
The United States and Japan do not seem to be in the dire situation
that some people expected. From some online reports and videos, the
pandemic has not caused much panic, with very few wearing masks in
public. That has dramatically subverted our perception of the pandemic.
Such confidence comes mainly from a country's good medical resources
and more extensive and in-depth scientific understanding.
Dr. Lee, who uses acupuncture point injections to treat pneumonia
caused by Covid-19, will travel to Korea to use his skills and expertise. If
this is true, I congratulate him.
I spent the whole day moving goods, one hundred 5 kg vegetable
packages of ten yuan and 40,000-yuan worth of various supplies
purchased by residents through community groups. The goods include
rice, flour, vegetables, meat and eggs, oil, salt, soya sauce and vinegar, and
toilet paper. These were only for one apartment complex. Everyone was
busy until 6:00 pm. Around 9:00 pm or 10:00 pm, the community center
sent a car to load a batch of vegetables from a faraway location. I like to
do this kind of physical work without using my brain. The more tired I
am, the more peaceful I feel. The problem is that the community center
is so busy that it can only meet part of the needs of some residents.
It is only a matter of time before the lockdown is lifted, so we need
to become active and resume work soon to unlock the city.
Disrespect for science and disregard for the plight of the people will
bring disaster and cannot be forgiven.
