{"id":26583,"date":"2012-04-05T13:04:00","date_gmt":"2012-04-05T13:04:00","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/127.0.0.1:10081\/?p=26583 "},"modified":"2012-04-05T13:04:00","modified_gmt":"2012-04-05T13:04:00","slug":"26583-revision-v1","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/minzhuzhongguo.org\/?p=26583","title":{"rendered":"Ai Weiwei Ordered to Take Down His Website"},"content":{"rendered":"<div><span style=\"font-size: 12pt; \">World-renowned artist Ai Weiwei says while authorities in China have no problem monitoring him around the clock, they do have a problem with him aiding their efforts.<\/span><\/div><div>&nbsp;<\/div><div><\/div><div><span style=\"font-size: 12pt; \">The dissident artist said late Wednesday via Twitter that Chinese officials told him to shut down a website he was using to stream surveillance video of himself only 46 hours after it started running.<\/span><\/div><div>&nbsp;<\/div><div><\/div><div><span style=\"font-size: 12pt; \">He tweeted, &#8220;Byebye to all the voyeurs.&#8221;<\/span><\/div><div>&nbsp;<\/div><div><\/div><div><span style=\"font-size: 12pt; \">The Chinese government prohibited Ai from leaving Beijing until June following his arrest last year on charges of tax evasion. &nbsp;Officials have also put him under constant surveillance.<\/span><\/div><div>&nbsp;<\/div><div><\/div><div><span style=\"font-size: 12pt; \">Ai, an outspoken social critic, installed four surveillance cameras in his home and had been streaming them on his site.&nbsp;<\/span><\/div><div>&nbsp;<\/div><div><\/div><div><span style=\"font-size: 12pt; \">He told CNN International he did it to provide some comfort to fans and supporters. Ai said, &#8220;They felt helpless, they just do not know where I am and do no get any answer about it.
