The hackers logged in as &#8220;bjgcn&#8221; and issued an article entitled &#8220;Website Canyu.org will be closed permanently! &#8221; The article said : &#8220;Due to some special issues, the management decided to close Canyu.org permanently after internal discussions&#8221;. &nbsp;When volunteers found out Canyu was attacked, they deleted the article posted by hackers.<\/div><div>&nbsp;<\/div><div>The editorial team of Canyu.org announces that they have no intention to close canyu.org. Canyu.org will continue to provide information for Chinese democracy activists, human rights defenders, and dissidents. Canyu.org will continue to report human right violations, human right defending activities, and official corruptions and other news in China. &nbsp;<\/div><div>&nbsp;<\/div><div>Even though Canyu.org is currently in a very difficult situation, Canyu.org volunteers continue to report pro-democracy activities in China. There has no funding since September 2012. Canyu was funded from 2005 to September 2012 by the National Endowment for Democracy (NED). Canyu.org editorial team has been trying to find funding without success so far. Even without funding, the editorial team never give up to serve the Chinese democracy movement, the civil societies and human rights defenders in China. Not only the editors are working as volunteers, the reporters from China are all working as volunteers. As always, canyu.org editors extend our sincere thanks and respects to the reporters who have provided news about citizen movements, human rights activities and official corruptions. Canyu.org&#8217;s reports have often been cited by Radio Free Asia, Voice of America and other main media.<\/div><div>&nbsp;<\/div><div>Canyu.org editors will continue to seek funding to continue canyu.org&#8217;s operation.
