On the afternoon of Thursday October 30, 2014, a Hebei Village, Leizhou City, Guangdong Province real estate developer employed 800 members of the organized crime gang &#8220;Big Ears Five&#8221; to carry steel pipes and cutting tools and seize contested land. This gave rise to a several-hour fierce conflict with more than 1,000 villagers. The conflict was eventually broken up by hundreds of police. Many were injured in the conflict.
