{"id":46741,"date":"2015-04-23T23:26:00","date_gmt":"2015-04-23T23:26:00","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/127.0.0.1:10081\/?p=46741 "},"modified":"2015-04-23T23:26:00","modified_gmt":"2015-04-23T23:26:00","slug":"46741-revision-v1","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/minzhuzhongguo.org\/?p=46741","title":{"rendered":"VOA Interview Cited in Case Against Chinese Dissident"},"content":{"rendered":"<div><\/div><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"http:\/\/mzzg.org\/UploadCenter\/ArticlePics\/2015\/17\/2015423201504240924china1.jpg\" alt=\"2015423201504240924china1.jpg (499&#215;280)\" \/><br \/><div><\/div><div><\/div><div>Hai Yan<\/div><div>&nbsp;<\/div><div>April 23, 2015 3:32 PM<\/div><div>&nbsp;<\/div><div><\/div><div>HONG KONG&#8212;A Chinese defense lawyer says he has learned that an interview with Voice of America&#8217;s Mandarin service is being cited in an indictment against his client, Yu Shiwen, a former student leader of the 1989 Tiananmen Square protests.<\/div><div>&nbsp;<\/div><div><\/div><div>Zhang Xue Zhong Thursday said the court documents accuse Yu of causing public disorder by giving an interview to VOA about a private June 4 memorial he held with friends last year.<\/div><div>&nbsp;<\/div><div><\/div><div>According to the indictment, the information became highly viewed content among Internet users who watched, commented on and shared it, causing serious public disorder.<\/div><div>&nbsp;<\/div><div><\/div><div>Zhang said the accusation of disorderly behavior, as well as the evidence, are baseless.<\/div><div>&nbsp;<\/div><div><\/div><div>&#8220;Posting information on the Internet, including videos and accepting interviews are also legal. &nbsp;Because he [Yu] made this information public, making it known to people, in other words clicking on relevant websites, constitutes a crime, I think this is simply something you can&#8217;t say has a legal basis. &nbsp;It completely violates human reason;
