But a boy and his mother heard the animal bark, not roar. As news spread, the zoo\u2019s visitors grew angry. \u201cThe zoo is absolutely trying to cheat us. They are trying to disguise dogs as lions!\u201d declared the mother, writes Joanne Leedom-Ackerman.<\/div><div>\u00a0<\/div><div><\/div><div>In 2009 the Chinese government put Liu Xiaobo, celebrated poet, essayist, critic, activist, and thinker into a cage, labeled him \u201cenemy of the state,\u201d charged him with \u201cinciting subversion of state power,\u201d and sentenced him to eleven years\u2019 imprisonment.
