Early in the morning, the rain that had been falling all night finally
\nstopped, and the temperature dropped, but it was not cold.
\nToday there are police officers at the gate of the entrance of each
\napartment building. Some say they are policemen from other cities. They
\nwithdrew around noon time.
\nI received a call from a house cleaning maid early in the morning,
\nsaying that her house was out of rice and noodles. It was surprising that
\nthe housekeeper had no food stored in her home when she could go in
\nand out of the area every day. However, I heard that a grocery store still
\nhad rice for sale on the way to work, so I contacted the cleaning maid
\nimmediately but was told that she had already taken care of it herself.
\nI seem to have a bit of a shopping compulsion. I want to buy
\nsomething whenever I get the chance, not even thinking about money. I
\nbelieve this is the expression of internal panic. I envy those cadres of the
\nauthorities for their amazing stability. Their lives, no doubt, are beautiful.
\nThe last two days, the delivery of the courier was busy. A northern
\ndumpling house is still selling frozen dumplings, 60 yuan a catty. The
\nowner is from the northeast and is optimistic that the pandemic in Wuhan
\nwill soon be over. Colleagues said that there were more cars on the street
\nthan before. All of this seems to be a sign and corresponds to the media
\nreports of the pandemic.
\nSome volunteers were recruited by the government and assigned to
\nthe community service center. They are said to be paid 100 yuan a day,
\nand their main job is to help residents in the community buy medicine
\nand provide other services for five hours a day.
\nSomeone from out of town called the community center and asked
\nfor electronic proof of return to Wuhan. The person who answered the
\nphone felt a bit baffled but later learned from the leader that new rules
\nhad been implemented recently. Community workers act negligently, but<\/p>\n

it does not mean that community people do not have a prudent side.
\nBeing tactful and sophisticated have always been the basic skills of those
\nexperienced community workers, who know very well what to say and
\nwhat not to say, but of course, there are many silly defects. In recent years,
\nthe community has become very sensitive to the issuance of certificates
\nfor fear of liability. Self-preservation is a human instinct.
\nThe group purchase channel seems to be relatively smooth, but the
\nhigh prices make residents dissatisfied. I saw a resident’s group purchase
\nitems: About two pounds of cabbage; A couple of pounds of dried
\nsoybean curd; A few lotuses\u2019 roots; A few carrots. They cost more than
\n120 yuan.
\nAs early as when people were snapping up masks, there was an
\nonline debate about whether the government should control prices. Both
\nsides of the debate have overlooked the essential factor, which is reality.
\nThe reality is that on the one hand, after decades of economic reform,
\nprivate enterprises and small businesses have become commonplace, and
\nthe market already exists, so it’s not easy to exercise complete control. On
\nthe other hand, the government has always been dominant in the market,
\nand state-owned enterprises are still huge. Control and adjustment are
\ncarried out every day. Control of the market is necessary for the
\ndepartments to obtain benefits, and it is a manifestation and symbol of
\npower. Ignoring this fundamental status makes the arguments of both
\nsides appear to be useless.
