The day was clear, and the air was dry.
\nThe number of new confirmed cases has dropped to single digits.
\nGood news. I believe this statistic is accurate. What I wonder is why we
\nstill feel that the lifting of the closure is so far away. When the number of
\nconfirmed cases drops from the thousands to single digits, it should
\nindicate that we have full control of the outbreak. We still cannot come
\nup with a formal timetable for lifting the city closure means. We still lack
\nan understanding of the nature of the virus, its transmission
\ncharacteristics, and ways to control the spread of the pandemic, and we
\nare still experimenting with our ways through the process. If that is the
\ncase, then it is very frustrating.
\nIt is rumored that Singapore, Korea, and Japan have been successful
\nin preventing disease. An excellent quote on the Internet: “Singapore uses
\nmanagement, while Korea uses purely scientific and hardcore methods. ”
\nThe number of tests per day reached 80,000. Behind the amazing
\nscientific capacity of bio-hygiene, which is directly tested in the lane
\nwithout people getting out of the car, the results are quickly detected.
\nThis news, if true, may be evidence of the opposite of why we are and
\ncan only be lockdown and isolated. It also proves how silly and
\nincomprehensible for some people to complain that these countries don’t
\ncopy our work.
\nPublic health and pandemic prevention are science. The ability of a
\nregion and a society to acquire science depends first and foremost on
\npeople’s attitude toward science. To promote science and achieve
\nconsensus among the public, or to treat science as a label or rag (science
\nas a door knocker to gain benefits) these two very different attitudes
\ndetermine the level of society’s civilization and even the country. We spit
\non the ground in the street. We are around a table with seven or eight
\npairs of chopsticks and spoons in the same bowl of soup stirring around.<\/p>\n

We prostrate under the power, and science is just a knee pad for
\nkowtow…… We are far away from knowing science, from scientific
\nmanagement, and do not know it. That is, of course, the main reason for
\nthis tragedy.
\nWe sit in our closed rooms, looking greedily out the window at the
\ngrowing spring scene, not knowing that what we are experiencing is due
\nto our ignorance and where our future hopes lie. We are drowning in our
\ndreams and cannot wake up, and we must wake up to get rid of them.

\nWe were moving in food, meat, and vegetables all day long, from far
\naway and out again. In Xiaogan City, there is a sad story about the
\ndistrict’s property and even the local government preventing other lower
\npriced vegetables from entering the building complex by the so-called
\nunusual channels. They even arrested the leading house owners, which
\neventually triggered the residents’ anger.
