\n<\/strong>The temperature is above 20 degrees Celsius. When looking at the
\ncolorful spring flowers, I felt there was no restraint in my mind.
\nThe community began loading and unloading rice for distribution,
\nand over a thousand pounds of rice have been distributed so far. It’s a
\ndaunting thought that will continue to grow. At the gate of the building
\ncomplex, I saw people volunteering to cut the hair for the residents, but
\nnot many of them came. Maybe they all wanted to keep their long hair.
\nSomeone reported that an older man living alone hadn’t had any
\nvegetables for over a week, so the community sent him some radishes,
\ncabbage, and a handful of sharp peppers.
\nThe bank finally remembered to open for business, and early in the
\nmorning, I saw a long line of people lined up at the entrance. Perhaps
\nmost of the people withdrawing money were older people. The bank put
\na long plastic stool at the gate, and those who withdrew money sat quietly
\non the stool with their bankbooks in their hands. The staff wore snow\u0002white isolation suits to hold the door as if this was a hospital or clinic.
\nThe number of confirmed new cases reported today is 1. Zeroing in
\nis imminent. Community leaders are organizing online health card
\napplications for residents in a WeChat group, saying that the health card
\nwill be used as proof of access to the community in the future. It seems
\nthat the government is working on opening the residential area and
\nshould do so gradually and conditionally.
\nMany people felt hope and concern about the pandemic extended
\nto the whole world, especially Europe and the United States. People know
\na lot about the governments of these countries, such as the United
\nKingdom. They say that the U.K. is now full of dead people, and the
\ngovernment is building mortuaries in the squares, which is a stark contrast
\nto the temporary tented hospitals we built. They say, “Foreign countries
\ndon’t think about the people like China does, so we build the tented<\/p>\n

hospitals, and they build the mortuaries. ” Everyone is so serious. It is
\nhard for others to talk or raise questions. There is a lot of news on the
\nInternet, such as a piece of news on Sina.com with the headline: “New
\nCovid-19 virus in China, a shocking new discovery, did the virus originate
\nin the United States?” There is also news that it is much more challenging
\nto get a nucleic acid test in the United States, with a kit costing as much
\nas $25,000, but only $40 in a public hospital in China! People have always
\nbeen aspired to go to the United States, Europe, and other developed
\ncountries. Many of them only found out that China is the best at this
\nmoment.
\nAfter more than two months of observation and reflection, I believe
\nthat the most critical aspect of pandemic prevention and control should
\nbe in three areas: First, to have the means and equipment to quickly
\nscreen fever and infected patients; second, to have medical units to admit
\ninfected patients based on timely screening and timely treatment; to have
\nclose supervision and observation of close contacts and to dispose of
\nthem at any time; and third, to popularize the propaganda of infection
\nprevention, and to popularize the scientific knowledge of infection
\nprevention, including the promotion of frequent hand washing, wearing
\nmasks and avoiding crowd gathering. While the government should
\nprovide adequate material and technical research support for medical care
\nand prevention, it should also strive to ensure the normal and efficient
\noperation of the municipalities and the economy. Of course, if this cannot
\nbe done, or if the government cannot do so, I am afraid that the only
\noption is to close. In terms of treatment, I think the most dangerous thing
\nis the so-called suspected patients. The presence of a large number of
\nsuspected patients may indicate that the outbreak is out of control.
\nIn general, there are two paths to prevent and control the pandemic.
\nOne is active medical prevention and control based on science and
\ntechnology. The other is mandatory containment and isolation in the
\nevent of the inability to control the pandemic. Both methods can achieve
\nthe purpose of prevention and control, but the latter requires a greater<\/p>\n

price and losses that are difficult to calculate. It also has a very high
\nchance of triggering secondary disasters and humanitarian disasters and
\nis a relatively primitive and simple means of a last resort.
\nOn March 16, the newspapers said city management team members
\nfrom Chengdu’s Baohe Street Office told vendors outside a small area
\nthat they were allowed to set up stalls during the pandemic prevention
\nand control period. It also said that street-level restaurants were allowed
\nto place tables and chairs on the sidewalk outside their stores to entertain
\ncustomers. Recently, the Chengdu Urban Management Committee has
\ndeveloped several measures to open temporarily occupied stall areas in
\nresidential areas and allow street-level stores to open temporarily. The
\ncompany’s main business is to provide a wide range of services to the
\npublic. I agree with this approach, very good! People say science is the
\nfirst productive force. I think the market is the first effective force and is
\nthe basis and driving force for the development of science and technology.<\/p>\n
