中国内地湖南《当代商报》记者师涛于2004年通过其雅虎（Yahoo!）电邮，把他从报社领导口头传达一份有关严禁报导六四15周年的内部文件内容的撮要，发表在海外网站，其后中国国家安全局向雅虎香港控股有限公司要求提供了该电邮用户的个人信息，国安局因而得以确认发送电子邮件者的地址及身份，最后作为法庭证据指控师涛。师涛于2005年3月，被控以泄露国家机密，判刑10年，并剥夺政治权利两年，现于湖南省沅江赤山监狱服刑。

师涛母亲高琴声女士刚刚代师涛赴南非领取由世界报业联合会颁发的自由金笔奖回来，特别来港商讨委托何俊仁议员聘请美国律师，控告雅虎美国总公司，她会向香港及国际新闻界讲述她儿子在狱中的现况，并呼吁公众关注师涛的案件，另得知雅虎美国总公司即将举行股东大会。亦有负责向香港私隐专员公署投诉雅虎香港控股公司的何俊仁议员，将联同高女士一起向新闻界发表有关师涛在美国控告雅虎的案件的最新情况。

Mainland Journalist Shi Tao\'s Mother Ms Gao Qinsheng and Legislator Mr Albert Ho Chun Yan Speak on Shi Tao\'s case

In 2004, mainland journalist Shi Tao of Contemporary Business News (Dangdai Shang Bao) in Hunan used his Yahoo email account to send out an abridged version of an internal document about the mainland authorities\' ban on reporting the 15th anniversary of the June 4 incident which he obtained verbally from his seniors at the newspaper to an overseas Chinese website. Later, the State Security Bureau requested the personal information of the email client from Yahoo! Hong Kong and used the information to charge Shi Tao. In March 2005, Shi Tao was sentenced to 10 years imprisonment and will lose his political rights for two years on the charge of leaking state secrets.

Shi Tao\'s mother has just returned from South Africa after receiving on Shi Tao\'s behalf the Golden Pen of Freedom Award by the World Association of Newspapers. She is now in Hong Kong to discuss with legislator Albert Ho Chun Yan to entrust him to hire US lawyers to sue Yahoo! in the United States. She will share with the press about Shi Tao\'s current situation in prison and call for public attention on her son\'s case. She has also recently realized that Yahoo! INC will hold its shareholders meeting in the United States soon. Mr Albert Ho, who also helped file the complaint against Yahoo! Hong Kong to the Hong Kong Privacy Commissioner, will join Ms Gao to talk about the updated situation about Shi Tao\'s case.
