Boxun editorial note: Danzengrenqing is younger brother of the Dalai Lama’s former captain of the guards Jia Yang. News analysts say that as Beijing and Dalai Lama representatives made breakthroughs this surprising tragedy took place. It can’t be ruled out that this is action stirred up by the Politics and Law Committee or Party officials in Tibet to harm Han-Tibetan relations. The below is Boxun’s report:
On September 10, 2014, Jianzha County, Qinghai Province organized an archery competition. On the afternoon of September 11, after the archery competition concluded, all the spectators held a celebration on the competition ground. Several drunk police demanded that everyone drink a toast to them or they would shut down the wedding. The local businessman Hangxiu’s elder brother challenged the police, asking them to show the law where not toasting a policeman results in a public function being cancelled. Is eating and drinking by average people a crime too? The police immediately roughly arrested him and threw him in their anti-riot vehicle. When Hangxiu saw this he called to the previous supporters asking why his brother was groundlessly arrested. Hang Xiu’s close friend Danzengrenqing tried to calm the two sides, but the police arrested Hangxiu, Danzengrenqing, and the three of them were put in the ant-riot vehicle.
As the anti-riot vehicle was on its way to the detention center, more than 20 anti-riot police savagely beat and humiliated the men and then locked them in the county detention center. Late that night eight local police brought a box of beer bottles to the detention center and got drunk and tortured the prisoners. They hung the prisoners in the air and broke the empty beer bottles on the their ribs and kneecaps. They also forced prisoners to the floor and pissed on them. After these eight vented their anger in violent acts they laughed savagely and left.
On the morning of September 12 the police at the prison discovered that Danzengrenqing wasn’t moving. He was frothing from the mouth. He was quickly sent to the prefecture hospital, but his injuries were too severe for them to treat him.
On September 13 he was sent to the Red Cross Hospital in Xining City, the capital of Qinghai Province. The Red Cross Hospital discovered that Danzengrenqing was critically injured. He had six broken ribs, a serious hip fracture, significant internal bleeding, and wounds all over his body.
