They carried weapons and engaged in a fierce conflict with more than 1,000 Hebei villagers. Some were injured and hospitalized. On the afternoon of Thursday October 30, 2014, a Hebei Village, Leizhou City, Guangdong Province real estate developer employed 800 members of the organized crime gang “Big Ears Five” to carry steel pipes and cutting tools and seize contested land. This gave rise to a several-hour fierce conflict with more than 1,000 villagers. The conflict was eventually broken up by hundreds of police. Many were injured in the conflict.
