It feels like the long-lost sunshine is filling the city again.
Although there are still a little over 100 new confirmed patients
every day, it feels like the so-called inflection point has arrived. We all
agree that most new confirmations come from suspected patients and
close contacts (mostly family members). Although there are febrile
symptoms in the general population, patients are being treated with the
relatively large number of hospital beds available. Their contacts and
activities can be traced, so widely spread and cross-contamination is
unlikely.
Even though the complete lifting of the lockdown is still a matter
of time, it is a matter of urgency to resume work and the regular operation
of the city as soon as possible. Hospitals must return to normal working
conditions as quickly as possible, and outpatient clinics should start
treating patients normally. Many hospitals, especially the central hospital,
have been severely depleted. After more than a month of accumulation,
more patients are waiting for treatment. The public can’t wait to see
doctors, and patients with serious illnesses can’t afford to wait. Therefore,
there should not be the slightest hesitation.
There are dozens of people in the community center, plus drivers
and volunteers, so eating every day is a big problem. Nowadays, most of
the meals are more than 40 yuan each so the center can hardly afford it,
not to mention the taste of these meals is very poor. Therefore, grocery
shopping and cooking is an essential part of the community’s work every
day.
I received a call from the natural gas company about setting up a gas
fee collection machine in the community, which has been hotly debated
for over a week. If more than one natural gas company were competing
instead of the current exclusive monopoly, I believe the progress would
be much faster.
We heard from the media that another doctor died in the line of
duty at Central Hospital. We pray for the doctors we are familiar with and
hope to see their faces and figures again soon, especially those of the
young ones. I also hope that after this life-and-death struggle with the
pandemic, the young interns can become full-fledged doctors and nurses,
instead of having to go around and find connections to get a place in the
hospital as they did before. They are all qualified and excellent health care
workers who have passed the life and death test.
Some leaders from the community center suggested that it is good
to give relief to those in need who are stranded in Wuhan, but what if
these reliefs run out? It makes sense that the most fundamental solution
is to send them safely back to their hometowns as soon as possible.
We heard from the media that Iranians were swarming into the
temple to lick the wall and pray. They said they were not afraid of the
virus. Let’s hope there are no viruses on the walls.
We heard from the media that the Tokyo Marathon was held as
scheduled. Some people say that the Japanese are stupid… The Japanese
who have won so many Nobel Prizes are stupid?
