A bullet has pierced a young woman's eye
tomorrow another bullet may pierce a young man's head.
In two days Hong Kong could be blind, the blind Pearl of the East.
Rivers of blood, corpses piled up;
white-haired parents searching, wailing, preparing funerals,
like god in heaven burying stars.
The ones who survive,
some will be criminals in jails in China;
some will be slaves, living dogs' lives;
some will be orphans, exiles, refugees
swept all over the world
never to return.
