SUNDAY, MAR. 15, 2020

A sunny day. The temperature reached over 20 degrees Celsius. In
past years, this kind of weather was a great opportunity for young women
to show off their bodies; and watch cherry blossoms. It is naturally a
popular topic among young people.
The number of new cases today is still in the single digit, but the
signs of lifting the closure are unclear. Some say that hope is at hand and
that the lockdown will be lifted by the end of March. While others say
that the total number of confirmed patients is very large, and the number
of suspected patients is also huge. In the evening, an older woman asked
me when she could go out and why she couldn't go out yet. That's what
I wanted to ask too.
Today, as always, I carried and unloaded rice, noodles, meat,
vegetables, and so on, endlessly until 9 pm. I don't care, and I am
physically exhausted. I think this kind of work is very stupid. But then I
think about it again. If we don't do this, we really can't help those who
are helpless. Like the closure of cities and neighborhoods, what would be
the result if we didn't take measures to close them like other countries,
like the U.S. and Japan. But what about those countries?
I feel like I have traveled back to the old time, standing on the
riverbank with big braids, looking at the black smoke of the fireboat,
dizzy. Periodic cycling and repetition is a distinctive feature of Chinese
history. What are those foreigners doing? They seem to be doing nothing,
and yet they do everything at the same time. We can only stay at home
lying in front of the window, thinking about nothing. Where is the
difference? Why don't they copy our model? I'm at a loss.
A letter of help from Dr. Lee on the Internet drew the attention of
netizens, who were angry at the bullying of medical staff by the hospital's
administrative staff. We have always been like this here. The academic
authority is the leader of the education system. The leading surgical

doctor and secondary leading doctor on the surgical table are the sources
of a hospital's income. The chief justice is the one who holds the law. We
don't understand foreigners, and foreigners don't seem to understand us.
Power is the core of our being, and we are all living under the
pyramid of power. Many netizens do not like European and American
countries, but, since modern times, the power inherited from ancient
times has indeed been defined by the Western world. We sincerely learn
everything from the West. What we get in the end is a combination of
East and West. I think there is nothing more frustrating in the world than
this.
We are still in the middle of a closure. The purpose of the closure is
to control the pandemic, and we have no better way to do that than to
close the cities and close the neighborhoods. We don't care for the
American and British approaches, and we can't learn from them. Imagine
a place where it is difficult to guarantee the masks of doctors. How is it
possible to use virus measurement equipment to identify and measure
people infected with the virus in shopping malls and even on the streets,
where the number of people tested is tens of thousands a day? We already
feel very, very modern when we take a body temperature in a small
shopping mall. How could this be used to be comparable? It's sad and
inexplicable. Just as we say that unchecked powers are the culprit that
prevents us from running towards civilization, can we get rid of this thing
called Powers? Because almost all of us love powers and chase them, a
person with even a little power can look down on others, can insult and
abuse others. Because they have the authority to guard the gate, they
always scold and insult people who must enter and exit the gate. They like
the feeling of abusing their powers. What's the problem?
